Raj Yadav

Raj Yadav

Raj Yadav, an 8 year old boy, belongs to very poor family. His father died in his early age. Raj lives with his mother with two younger brothers in a slum area of Raipur. Raj’s mother is a labour and she could earn only for their daily food. Raj never got admitted to schools because he looks after his two younger brothers when his mother goes for daily wages. During House Hold Survey the teacher came to know about Raj and his family. The teachers suggested his mother to admit all her children in residential hostel to get education as well as residential facilities. She never thought that government helps poor children so much. Now Raj is living in residential hostel no. 4, Ganj Para, Raipur.

He says “I eagerly saw many children going to school in the morning every day. I thought whether I could get admission in school. I thank my mother who admitted me in residential hostel. I live here with my brothers. Now I want to become an engineer. My teachers are helping me for preparation to get admission in Navodaya Vidyalaya.”
