Birasmuni
Birasmuni is a girl from Tilaidih, Block- Palkot, District- Dumka. She studied up to class IV in Rajkiya Buniyadi Madhya Vidyalaya, Baghima, Palkot. She discontinued her studies due to poor economic condition of family. In the age of 13, her father Shri Gandur Lohra fixed her marriage with Shri Viteram Lohra of Lodam, Chattisgarh. But Birasmuni wanted to continue her study.
During ‘Vidyalaya Chale Chalaye Abhiyan’ and ‘Pahle 12th Tak Padhai Phir Bidayi’, with the help of one friend, Birasmuni talked with school principal. School principal found out everything from Birasmuni that what actually she wants. Taking concern on issue, principal went to meet Birasmuni father and tried to make him understand. But her father was adamant for the marriage. Principal gave information to Block Programme Officer. Information was also given to local thana. By taking concern on matter, District deputy commissioner, Superintendent of police, District education officer and District superintendent of education visited school on dated 29.04.15 and took decision to admit Birasmuni in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay, Palkot.
